I guess began photography because anyone can take a photo. That's not to say that anybody can pick up a camera and instantly create great images, but the process is direct, unlike painting or drawing; if you have the vision, and some basic technical knowledge, you can realize ideas with relative ease. Beyond the initial allure, I enjoy photography because my pictures allow for reflection, on life and my place in it. I think the best photos challenge the viewer to see the world in a different light.
